Recently, the heavy-duty moving gantry friction stir welding equipment independently developed and designed by Suzhou Equipment Company of Factory 149, the Eighth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, has been fully installed, commissioned and successfully delivered to the customer. This equipment is mainly applied to friction stir welding of large aluminum enclosures and panels in the semiconductor industry, with a maximum welding thickness of 30mm. It addresses the drawbacks of conventional fusion welding for medium and thick plates, such as complicated multi-pass welding procedures, low productivity, weak joint strength and severe post-weld deformation, helping customers improve welding quality and production efficiency.
