On March 4, 2024, Aerospace Engineering Equipment (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. signed a procurement contract for the Friction Stir Solid-state Additive Manufacturing Integrated Equipment with University of Science and Technology Beijing. This marks the first introduction of intelligent friction stir solid-state additive manufacturing equipment and related technologies by the university, and the delivery will also be China's first engineering-type equipment of this kind. The device will be applied to fundamental scientific research and technological exploration in relevant laboratories of the university.

 

Jointly developed by Aerospace Engineering Equipment (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. and the Macao Institute for Development and Quality, this equipment is capable of friction stir welding, friction surfacing and solid-state additive manufacturing for a wide range of metal materials. It supports high-frequency real-time monitoring of temperature, torque and pressure during operation, meeting research demands for solid-state processing technologies of various materials. Adopting a modular design for flexible function configuration, the equipment will greatly boost fundamental research and process exploration of solid-state friction forming technologies in China.

 

The successful signing of the order for China's first engineering-type friction stir solid-state additive manufacturing equipment proves that the company has realized the industrialization and engineering application of core technologies in this field. It will not only facilitate fundamental research in universities, but also bring new ideas and solutions to the manufacturing of aluminum alloy components for aerospace industry. Additionally, it will inject fresh impetus into intelligent manufacturing for weaponry, shipbuilding, semiconductor and other sectors.
