On July 20, 2023, the China Welding Association officially released the group standard Technical Specification for Friction Stir Welding of Cast Aluminum (T/CWAN 0070-2023). Proposed and led by Aerospace Engineering Equipment (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as AEE), the standard was compiled under the organization of the Welding Equipment Branch of China Welding Association, and came into force on August 1, 2023.

This standard was jointly drafted by Aerospace Engineering Equipment (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., Guangdong Hongtu Nantong Die Casting Co., Ltd., Anhui Wanyu Machinery Equipment Technology Co., Ltd., Ningbo Xusheng Group Co., Ltd., Fusiwei Technology (Jiashan) Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Risong Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., Macao Institute for Development and Quality, Hunan Kunding CNC Technology Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Beiren Intelligent Manufacturing Technology Co., Ltd., Einttech Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology and the Welding Equipment Branch of China Welding Association.

Its technological research and engineering applications have developed rapidly in recent years. The release of this standard provides technical guidelines for friction stir welding of cast aluminum alloys, standardizes relevant production, inspection and delivery procedures, and promotes the popularization and application of friction stir welding technology in the automotive and other industries.
