In the golden October, the sweet fragrance of osmanthus blossoms fills the campus of Tianjin University. The first stop of the "Entering Universities" forum, carefully organized by Aerospace Engineering Equipment (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., kicked off grandly there.

The two-day visit to Tianjin was highly fruitful. On the first day, Dr. Hu Fengfeng from the company held initial discussions with Professor Wang Jun from Tianjin Sino-German University of Applied Sciences regarding friction stir welding vocational training and professional qualification certification. Professor Wang introduced the research on friction stir welding applications in the aerospace field, and both sides reached a preliminary consensus on cooperation in this area.

On the second day, the team visited Tianjin University, China’s first modern university. Founded in 1895, it was among the first 16 national key universities designated by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China in 1959, and its welding program ranks top-tier in China. Professor Cui Lei from the Welding Department of the School of Materials Science and Engineering led the team on a tour of the university’s modern laboratories, presenting its research directions and achievements in welding, followed by formal exchanges at the School of Materials.

Centered on "Application and Development of Friction Stir Welding Technology in the Intelligent Manufacturing Era and New Friction Stir Welding Processes", the forum attracted teachers and students from Tianjin University’s welding discipline, technical personnel from local FSW user enterprises, and representatives from potential clients. Dr. Hu Fengfeng and Professor Cui Lei delivered reports titled "Application and Development of Friction Stir Welding Technology in the Intelligent Manufacturing Era". Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on FSW processes and equipment development, reaching broad consensus.
